All of our applications have been developed using the latest in cutting edge web technology. Central to our solution is Ruby on Rails, the open source web application framework which is rapidly becoming the platform of choice for feature-rich web programming. Rails allows us to build robust applications quickly, using small teams and short release cycles to give maximum flexibility to accommodate ever-changing client requirements.

Open Source

We are committed to the use of open source code where possible, and are active in the open source community. Open source code is peer reviewed, and so we have found that it is often better scrutinised and more bug-free than the closed source equivalents. Crucially for us, when we do find problems, we can fix or enhance the code ourselves, and release the patch back to the community. As a result, our applications work the way we want them to, not the way a third party vendor has dictated.

Resilient

Using a combination of Ruby on Rails and the Amazon EC2 cloud computing platform, we have been able to develop a fully automated test suite which allows us to run hundreds of functional tests in parallel on virtual servers created only when they are needed. Our test suite completes in minutes rather than days, and we can deploy changes to our production environments with confidence. As a result our core platform has been extremely resilient.

Agile

Because we are resilient, we can afford to be agile. Our rapid release cycles enable us to react quickly to the changing requirements of the young UK prepaid industry, without resorting to delaying tactics such as production freezes. Our production schedule rarely extends beyond the current quarter - typically we quote delivery times in days or weeks.

We have invested heavily in a robust, scalable platform built on Linux and MySQL. Application deployment is automated using Capistrano, and we can add additional application servers with a few mouse clicks. All of our servers are dedicated, and hosted by reputable providers with 100% uptime guaranteed.

We undertake regular PCI compliance reviews to ensure that our platform and our data is secure. Data transmisson is always encrypted using industry standard tools.
